The goal of the Grace Gulick Community Track project is to fund a safe, modern, 8-lane track and field complex serving students, families, and residents across Pine Valley, Eagle Valley, Oxbow, and the Hells Canyon region.

This project honors Grace Gulick, a beloved PE teacher, volleyball coach, and track coach who inspired generations of Pine Eagle athletes. It will provide:

  • A fully resurfaced track

  • Complete field event areas (long jump, high jump, javelin, discus, shot put)

  • Equipment for meets and competitions

  • Community amenities for year-round movement, fitness, and wellness

Proposed Design

For generations, Pine Eagle has been a place where athletic excellence, resilience, and community pride take shape. Today, that legacy is at risk. The school’s aging asphalt track—once a point of pride—is now cracked, unsafe, and limiting what students and the broader community can achieve together.

Deteriorating surfaces and incomplete field event areas not only restrict use; they pose real safety concerns for students, families, and residents who rely on the facility for daily activity. This is more than a facilities issue—it is an opportunity issue. Without intervention, Pine Eagle cannot host meets, expand programs, or fully serve as a gathering place for health, connection, and community life.

A modern, rubberized track changes that future. It creates a safe, durable, all-season surface for K–12 athletes and community members alike. It supports walking, jogging, fitness, and intergenerational programming, wellness events, and community gatherings. Over time, the facility is intended to support structured, community-led programming that keeps the track active, valued, and financially sustainable.

This transformation will be delivered through a clear, disciplined three-phase plan over three years.

Phase 1 (2025) establishes the foundation: engineering and topographic studies, School District approvals and memorandum of understanding, finalization of the Beynon Sports design, public parking improvements, and the launch of early fundraising.
Phase 2 (2026) accelerates momentum through a capital campaign engaging major donors, lane and meter sponsors, and supporters of fencing and signage, while securing in-kind materials, construction support, and competitive grant funding.
Phase 3 completes the vision with track repair and resurfacing, construction of new field event areas, installation of fencing, signage, and lighting, and final equipment placement. Project completion is targeted for Fall 2027, at which point the Pine Eagle School District will assume long-term maintenance and operations.

This project will only succeed through shared ownership.

Whether through financial contributions, in-kind resources, sponsorship, or advocacy, partners have a meaningful opportunity to invest not only in infrastructure, but in a living community asset—one designed to remain active, programmed, and impactful for decades to come.
